p.s.

This is the dining room from the Beene layout from House and Garden that I posted yesterday. The shades are Brunschwig and Fils and the walls are painted to match. The leopard and zebra rug is by Stark. Mural by Jack Plaia.

I just had to show this, too. It didn’t fit with yesterday, but I thought it was a bit of a must-see. As an aside, this layout was in the same issue as the Boston apartment from last week.

  1. now THIS is a fantastic dining room! i love the attention to detail: i mean – PAINTING YOUR DRAPES to match? amazing! And I love those polychrome busts!!

  2. This is a great room – and that print is a classic. There’s never enough space for all the great fabric.

  3. wait, it’s the walls that are painted to match right? The shades are B&F fabric, no? No matter, it’s the painters equivalent to the forbidden Chinese stitch. Imagine trying to recover from painting that up close for a month! Still, it’s amazing. The thumbnail looked very Georges Seurat.

  4. Halcyon – yes, it is the walls that are painted, and I hadn’t thought of the painter, which is funny, because that is exactly the kind of thing that usually occurs to me. He must have been cross eyed at the end. Fortunately, he was working for Geoffrey Beene, and not me, so he was likely well compensated.
