Off the Rack

I have to admit, as much as I love Kansas City, no one lives here for the weather. It’s been a terrific surprise that while we have had friends in town KC has put on a marvelous show. 80 degrees, sunny, no humidity. Which led to a pool outing/recovery (last night was a big one) and magazine reading today. Jeffery Bilhuber’s Long Island home is in the August issue of Vogue. If you like the rug that he uses throughout (over those deliciously black floors)

they have something very similar at Pottery Barn.

Also, his living room curtains are Le Lac. Just in case you missed it.

  1. I really like using natural elements such as those mats. On top of black floors would be a favorite, minus the dust bunnies of course!

  2. World Market also has the flooring you can order by the foot. I am so sorry I had to miss all of the fun with our world famous design stars and Kansas City friends!

  3. Courtney – It looks yellow on the page as well, but Hamish Bowles says it is the color is "the crisp green of a Granny Smith apple." Which sounds equally terrific.

  4. I'm in awe of the large bleeding hearts growing indoors!!!!
I don't think I could cover black floors so much, but his choice I'd have to go save for.

  5. Thanks for the heads up on Mr. Bilhuber's latest pad! I'll pick up Vogue at lunch today. God, the way he uses black just makes my head spin…M.

  6. I used that flooring in my daughter's sunroom, and we had it in our beach house growing up. I have wonderful memories of that grass matting. And, yes, Cost Plus is the place to get it!

  7. does anyone have any idea where you can get that rug…grass matting rug?? I have been on the hunt for weeks and cant find it. Its wonderful and it is stitched per square…. Thanks for the help!

  8. I have been on the hunt for this rug for weeks and cant seem to find it any where. Does anyone know where you can get it? i know it comes large enough to custom cut etc but cant find it. i appreciate any help. i love how it is stitched per square.
