Gibson Girl

Many of you are familiar with San Francisco-based designer Grant Gibson as his apartment and show house rooms tend to show up often on blogs and Pinterest boards.  He recently gave his apartment a spiff and filled me in on the details.  (Hint: inexpensive and vibrant art can take you a long way.) You can see the images of his colorful update at AD here.

Behind the Curtain

Last night I stayed out a bit too late for a school night as I had the chance to see a truly remarkable Bruce Goff house here in Kansas City (and some pretty remarkable people, too.)  It filled my head with fantasy. While I regroup (and get ready for the opening of Inventing the Modern World at the Nelson), click over to Architectural Digest where Miles Redd and I are chatting about sheer curtains.  (AD has revamped their site and it is looking pretty swish.)

ADing On

Please forgive my spotty posts.  I’ve been painting my living room and for a short time I thought it had gotten the best of me.  Also, I’m stepping out on you just the littlest bit.  Every now and then, a few times a month for as long as they will have me, I’m going to be writing the same sort of stuff that I write here over at archdigest.com.  It’s been in the works for a while, but as editor Margaret Russell said at Blog Fest yesterday, random is not in her vocabulary.  Anyway, I think we have things hammered out, though I am sure they will evolve.  Expect the same sort of stuff around here, with the occasional link over there.
